“Today the AMA weighed in on PM Rudd’s new health-care proposals.
The Allergists voted to scratch it, but Dermatologists warn against making any rash moves.
Gastroenterologists have sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists believe the Administration has a lot of nerve.
Obstetricians feel they are all labouring under a mis-conception, and Ophthalmologists consider the idea short-sighted.
Pathologists yelled, “Over my dead body!” to which the Pediatricians responded, “Oh, Grow up!”
Psychiatrists regard the whole idea as madness, and Radiologists say they can see right through it.
Surgeons will wash their hands of the whole thing.
Internists think it is a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons’ comment was: “This puts a whole new face on the matter…”
Podiatrists regard it as a step forward, but Urologists are p……d off about the whole proposal.
Anesthetists, however, think the whole idea is a gas, and Cardiologists haven’t the heart to say “No!”
In the end, the Proctologists had the last word. They say: “Leave the decision up to the a…h…s in Canberra.” (author unknown)
…and this ex-psych nurse says…seriously…governments can reorganize and even if they pour the actual amount of money needed into the health system, without the return of the practice of ethical standards by all health practitioners for all Australians there will be no improvement to our standard of care.
More to come…
