Don’t run Son

 28/060/10

This is written for my fourteen year old son who told me yesterday, that when he looks at most adults around, he doesn’t see much to admire.

And it’s making him grumpy when they speak of the path they say he must follow; the path they themselves are on.

I wrote this for him and share it here, for all teenagers who may also be feeling that way.

To be Happy

Don’t run Son

With the crowd

They know not your destination

For destination is within.

Not in signs made by others.

Don’t run Son

With the crowd

They know not their tripping

Over their fellow-beings.

Trampling a part of themselves

Into the ground.

Don’t run Son

With the crowd

They know not the harm they do

To their mother beneath and above.

That gifts them all

With that that allows them to be.

Run not son

With the crowd

For running is not the way

As is so easy to see

Sit my Son

Sit

Everyday

Listen my son

Listen to Yourself.

You will tell You

The right way

Listen to Within

And walk That way.

For That is your way

The way Within

Love Mum
